For us, it’s all about the writing. If we read your script and love your writing, you’ll definitely hear from us. If you don’t hear from us, that means we’re passing on that particular script, but we encourage you to submit your next one.
How do I get my script to Magnet Management?
The first step is to submit a query. Just click on ‘submissions’ and fill in the form. If we’re interested in reading your material based on your query, you’ll receive an email from us with a release form attached. Once you’ve emailed, snail-mailed, or faxed us your signed release form, we’ll read your script.
Is Magnet Management interested in television as well as film writers?
Absolutely. One of our managers, Chris Mills, focuses almost entirely on television. We represent creators as well as writers at all staff levels in both comedy and drama.
Should I drop by with a box of cookies to hand-deliver my script?
No! We’re sure you’re a perfectly nice person, but gimmicks won’t get your material read any faster. We’re busy reading scripts, not eating cookies.
Do you guys attach yourselves as producers to your clients’ projects?
Only when mutually agreed upon. Our philosophy is to always put our clients’ best interest first. Whenever we bring an idea, article or book to a client we let that client know in advance if we intend to produce the project.
